2018 - 30th year
The season ended with the banquet on March 4th at the Village Pub. The Super Bowl trophy will end and the 10.00 will go to the Super Bowl winner. Mark S., George L. will work on a possible change to the season payouts. Brian S., Mark S. and George L will work on the draft selecting, snake or NFL style. The FFL89 HOF has elected: Clinton Portis, Anquan Boldin, Andre Johnson, Devin Hester(ST), Jason Hanson and FFL team, Texan. The rookie draft order was set with the Draft Order program. We had plenty of beer and Italian subs with chips. Great time again as always. The 30th season began on March 1st and the next event is the Rookie draft, July 22. On April 5th. we lost a friend, Frank owner of the Village Pub. Since 2009, Frank allowed our league to hold our draft's and year end meetings. He provided some of the best food around and also the drinks. He passed away to soon and will be missed by all who knew him. The rookie draft was held July 22 in Stickney. At the draft were Lynx, JP Neil and Texans. The rest were online. Went really well. After the draft was over, Papa Dogs served the food which was hot dogs and Italian Sausage. Great food. Next up will be the roster cuts to 20 and a few weeks after the protect lists will be due. After all is done the 30th FFL89 draft will be August 26 at the Village Pub. Things change and so has our league. We bought a draft program for out of state owners (3) to be able to draft online and be apart of the yearly event. Since 2012, more and more owners have preferred to not attend and stay at home and draft online. So, for the 30th draft, we will not be at the Village Pub for the season draft. Instead the draft will be held in Stickney for those who will want to attend. As of now it will be 2 -3 teams attending. The yearly highlight has seem to come to an end. The world is turning to crap and older times have come to past. Time to move on whether we like it or not. Protect list is completed and now we are in the draft prep week. Players protected were from 6 - Strange Brew to 20 - JP Neil and StrongBow. One hundred and seventy-three players were protected which totaled 450.00 extra dollars for players over the 7 player limit. The 30th draft is just 7 days away. Once again Ed H. has come through with a team name change. StrongBow will now be called Island Mutts. Leads the league in all-time add / drops and team name changes. All in his seventh season. The 30th draft is now over. At the draft, Lynx and Texan, the rest of the teams were online. Draft lasted about 1 and 1/2 hours. 67 players were selected. Tuesday the 28th will start the first season waivers and the following week the NFL season will begin.Thirteen weeks went by too fast. We are now headed into the playoffs. In the Championship: Warthogs and Young Guns have a bye, Texan vs Lynx and JPNeil vs LAW Warlords. For the Toilet Bowl: Lucente's Rule and McGibblets have the bye, with Strange Brew vs Shamrocks and I'm Not Howie vs Island Mutts. Several records were recorded oin 2018. They are listed in the League records page. Papa Dogs is like yesterday when it actully  was in July. Looking for a good playoff season. The North division had two teams at 9-4-0 and one with a 8-4-1 record. Warthogs led the league with a 10-2-1 record, winning the first 10 to start the season. LA Warlords finished a half game ahead of Lucente's Rule with a 7-6-0 record. Lynx won the East at 9-4-0. The final week of the regular season starts this week. Texan will be at Young Guns and JP Neil will be at Warthogs. Three of the final 4 are teams from the North division, two in the finals. The North division dominated the league with a 30-14-1 record. East was 18-27-0, S 20-24-1 and the West 20-23-2. In the Toilet Bowl, Shamrocks will be at McGibblets for the Toilet Bowl Championship. McGibblets whipped on Island Mutts 105-51 and Shamrocks beat Lucente's Rule, 50-48. Shamrocks had a 4 point lead heading into the Monday night game. Thanks Cam Newton and Devin Funchess. The 2018 Champions are:  League - Young Guns and Toilet Bowl Shamrocks defeated McGibblets. In the championship, Texan - 2nd, JP Neil - 3rd and Warthogs - 4th. Rookie draft 1st pick - Shamrocks, 2nd pick - McGibblets. The rest will be decided at the banquet. The Championship week is over, we will have the week 17 weekly high and then the Super Bowl playoffs start. Warthogs win week 17 with a 149 points scored. Heading into Super Bowl Sunday, a 30 year gift to all teams will be handed out at the year end meeting. They will find out at the meeting. Super Bowl XXIX is now over. Patriots 13  Rams 3. For FFL89, Shamrocks 337, Texan  328 and Lynx 306. All that is left for this year is the year end meeting and on March 1st, the 2019 season begins. The year went by super fast. Year end meeting has now ended the 2018 season Once again we were at the Village Pub with Italian beef, sausage and peppers. We had the best owner turnout in a long time. Nine of the 14 owners were present. The three out of state owners were not there, as expected, 2 the other two were not there. Some rules were tweeked, Six players and owners, Tony L, Mark S, Young Guns (Brian - Rob S) were elected to the FFL89 HOF. The rookie draft order was selected and the food and drink bill was paid. Now preparing for the 2019 season that begins March 1st where trades and waivers are allowed. Next big NFL events, free agency and the rookie draft.

2019
It is March 1st, 2019. The 31st season has officially begun. Waivers, Trades are allowed. Pickups are not. Let the season begin. April, 2019 - NFL draft is now over and from now until the rookie draft in July, its study time. Study more here than I did in school. Once agian the 2019 season will use CBSsports and the draft board by PrimeTime draft. As of now the rookie draft will be held July 28th at 12:00 pm in Stickney and Papa Dogs will provide the draft food. The annual event has happened. The Island Mutts will now be called, Mr Rodgers neighborhood, nuff said. Didn't say enough, New team name for Mr Rodgers neighborhood, now they will be Stooges. The 5th Rookie draft is now over with the Shamrocks drafting 8 players while the Texan draft only 1. The PrimeTime draft awarded Lynx a A+ and all other teams in  the league a C+. Each team was given a FFL89 t-shirt and Rookie draft hats were available. The t-shirts were

handed out except for the 2 for Young Guns. On August 10th, the roster cuts to 20 was completed. The Following Saturday, August 17, Each teams protect list is due. Protected player list is complete. A record 173 players were protected and 93 players X 5.00. After will be draft prep week and on August 25th the 31st season draft at 11am in Stickney. The 31st draft has come and gone. CBS is update with the drafted players and FFL89 is being updated. The 1st pick in the draft by Shamrocks was George Kittle, TE. The last pick #240 was Adam Vinatieri, I'm Not Howie. Food was good, 18 hour beef and pasta salad. Add / drop night starts Wednesday and the NFL season will begin Sept. 5th. Before the season began, Stooges, Ed Hayes, made 20 roster moves, 18 charged. What a great start. He now has 36 moves left for the next 17 weeks. As of 11-18, two teams have clinched their divisions, East-Lynx and North-Texan. Two down, two to go. Then the wildcards will be set and the Toilet Bowl teams also, within the next two weeks. The West and South has been decided, W - McGibblets and S - LA Warlords. Week 13 will decide the 2 Wild Card teams and the remaining Toilet Bowl teams. Strange Brew and I'm Not Howie are two of the Toilet Bowl teams. All set, Warthogs and Lucente's Rule are the Wildcard teams and Shamrocks, Stooges, Young Guns and JP Neil will be in the Toilet Bowl. Playoffs start 12 -5. We are headed into the Championship and Toilet Bowl finals. Warthogs @ LA Warlords, for the Championship and Lucente's Rule @  McGibblets for third place. In the Toilet Bowl it will be Young Guns @ Shamrocks. The winner gets the 1st draft pick in the rookie draft and loser gets the second pick. Shamrocks are in the finals for the 2nd year in a row. Last year they won and had the 1st pick and now pick #1 in 2020 rookie draft. The Champions once again is Warthogs who defeated LA Warlords and Lucente's Rule beat McGibblets.
