NFL - Downhill grinder with an ability to create for himself with his vision and power, but lacking desired level of elusiveness and burst as an NFL runner. Snell is a touchdown hog whose scores were often earned and rarely given. Teams will like his toughness, size and instincts, but he must improve has blitz pickup to counter his athletic limitations. He needs to find the right fit to become an average RB2/RB3.
DLF - Benny Snell has been talked about a great deal in a negative light. However, in this draft class, I believe a few backs are bound to have fantasy production. Yes, he lacks some athleticism, but his football insight and intelligence is something that cannot be overlooked. I could see him being a key cog in goal-line work. I think the biggest factor in Snell’s future will be the landing spot and his ability to continue to grow in power and size. If he goes to a team that lacks a goal-line, between-the-tackles runner, we could see some fantasy impact from him very soon. Snell is a very interesting prospect and will be available for low draft capital.
Regional scout with NFC team - "Try-hard running back who can wear down defenses. He had a role at Kentucky and filled it."
Draft Sharks - Snell’s best bet for fantasy value looks like a goal-line role in a backfield committee. His pass-catching ability should mean spot-start upside when other RBs on his team are hurt, but Snell doesn’t look like a player NFL teams should or will count on to pilot the backfield. That makes him a later-round rookie pick.
