NFL - Tyshun "Deebo" Samuel lives up to his nickname (Deebon comes from a tough guy in the movie "Friday") and plays each game like he's stepping into an alley fight. While Samuel is tough and competitive, he lacks suddenness and might need scheme help with motion and bunch formations to help free him against NFL man coverage. He is a gamer who thrives once the ball is in his hands, and he might be able to help a team from the slot if he can stay healthy.
Draft Sharks - Samuel is more athlete than WR at this point. He’s not as strong a route runner as he could be considering his athleticism. And his downfield speed is somewhat negated by his struggles tracking the ball and winning contested catches.
DLF - Samuel is, by all means, a safe prospect, much like Damien Harris. He may not be the “sexy” rookie pick at the 2.01 or 2.02, but make no mistake, Samuel can ball. I like him because I don’t have to worry about certain aspects of his game. His ability to break the big play and his skill as a kick returner will have teams thinking about acquiring his services in the second round of the NFL draft.
CBS - Can be the most dynamic player on the field, Samuel can line up in the backfield, run the jet sweep, line up in the slot or outside and beat a cornerback on a go route. He can also return kicks. A precise route-runner who is a bigger, stronger version of what Brandin Cooks can do. Incredibly tough, he willingly takes on blockers and welcomes contact. Proved speed wasn't an issue at the Senior Bowl and with a 4.50 40 at the combine
