NFL - "He's a big guy who is going to test really well but I think he's going to have a hard time finding separation." -- Area scout for AFC team

DLF - He will most likely have the most success in the NFL while being off the line of scrimmage as a large slot receiver, or being used as a flanker. This will allow him to stay out of press-man coverage and move him away from the top defensive backs. He found separation against tight man coverage at Cincy, but press man coverage at the NFL is another level.

FB Guys - Pierce uses his big frame and strength, but is also fast and smart against zone coverage. He’s not that quick or twitchy, so good man coverage could stick to him on Sundays. It’s not clear whether he’ll be a true deep threat in the NFL despite his impressive measured straight-line speed (4.41 at the combine).

DLF - Post-Draft Summary: Pierce ended up being a second round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, surprising many. Even better, he landed in a solid spot with the Colts, who don't exactly have an embarrasment of riches at the position. The athletic ability is there, but it's going to take some time for him to develop. If he can show the ability to beat press coverage and outrun some cornerbacks, Pierce could emerge as a starter sooner rather than later. He's a player to keep your eye on and looks like a second round rookie pick at the moment.
