NFL - One of the safest runners in this draft with a desirable combination of size, vision, toughness and creativity. He runs with impressive calm and instincts in the midst of interior mayhem, weaving and battering his way through traffic. Smart teams will recognize his ability to create yardage for himself with his eyes, footwork, contact balance and power. Should alleviate concerns about his lack of explosiveness. Montgomery has a pro-ready game and Day 2 (Rounds 2-3) value as a good NFL starter.
Scouting director with AFC team - "That's my guy! If he gets with the right team, he's going to be the best running back to come out of this class and you won't have to draft him early either."
Draft Sharks - Montgomery isn’t a flashy talent. Whereas fellow rookie RB Darrell Henderson ripped off 15 plays of 40+ yards in 2018, Montgomery had just one — a 53-yard catch.
DLF - Montgomery doesn’t require a creative play-caller to unlock his full potential; rather, he simply needs a team to commit to utilizing his entire skill set. The earlier he gets drafted, the better chances this has at occurring.
CBS - Low center of gravity runner with scary lateral jump-cut skills and the best contact balance of any back in the class. Reliable receiver who instantly morphs into a runner after catching the football and surprises defenders with his quickness after the catch. Best between the tackles carving through the defensive line and second level.
