NFL - Full-field reader offering prototypical size and arm talent, but one that has a concerning lack of accuracy and consistency against top opponents. Inside of each game, Lock makes reads and throws that are worthy of an early pick. There will also be plays in the same game that highlight his random inaccuracy and issues defeating pocket pressure. He has as much pure talent as any quarterback from the 2018 draft, but he won't reach that lofty potential unless he improves his accuracy and learns to play with better in-game presence.

DLF - In a class generally considered weak at the quarterback position, Drew Lock is an intriguing prospect. Where he is drafted will tell us how general managers perceive him. Even in a ‘down’ quarterback class, I still expect him to be drafted in the top ten overall by a QB-needy franchise. NFL general managers often overdraft quarterbacks because of how important the position is to prolonged success in the league – this is why I believe Lock will be selected with a top ten – and even possibly top five – selection.

Draft Sharks - Lock’s ceiling might be Cutler, a career that probably included more rushing value than you realized. Cutler averaged 314 rushing yards per college season and then averaged 176 yards per 16 games in the NFL. Lock outran Cutler 4.69 to 4.77 in the Scouting Combine 40.

CBS - Good-sized, decently athletic, big-armed pocket passer who can throw from many platforms and bases with good, not great accuracy and lives for the deep ball. Occasional bad miss on easy throws when he trusts his arm too much and delivers while off balance. Flashed the ability to read the entire field and typically showcased good pocket patience
