PFF - Howell has his areas for growth, but his sheer physical tools are undeniable. He has more to offer than what was showcased in the Tar heel's offense.
FB Guys - Howell is yet another quarterback prospect in this class that can create with his legs, upping his fantasy profile, but he is also yet another quarterback prospect in this class that didn’t run an offense that simulates NFL decision-making. Howell shines on deep balls, but he isn’t patient enough in the pocket and makes some bad decisions. In a highly managed system, he could be a hit in both fantasy and NFL terms. Howell completed his degree before leaving North Carolina despite entering the draft as a junior.
DLF - Post-Draft Summary: Howell's massive slide ended at the top of round five, but his landing spot could actually be a good one. Quarterbacks taken in the fifth round are sometimes taken as long-term backups, but Howell is in line for a legitimate chance to start if Carson Wentz fails to impress. In short, it could be worse.
