DLF - My thoughts: It is difficult for me to be objective about Bateman as a Minnesota fan and alumnus. He’s likely to be the first Gopher drafted in the first round since 2006 and has a chance to be the first one taken in the top 20 picks in the last 30 years! If he happens to go in the top 15 picks, that would be a first since 1966. Anyway, enough Minnesota Gophers history! Bateman is a beast and outside of lacking elite speed, it is tough to find a flaw in his game. He might never be elite, but he can definitely be the next step down.
CBS Sports' No. 24 prospect overall: Bateman has been a big play threat for the Gophers throughout his career but he needs more play strength to reach elite status.
NFL - The production looks good on paper, but I was at a couple of his games in 2019 and I just wanted to feel (his presence) more." -- Midwest scout for AFC team
CBSsports - Best Trait: Elusiveness    Strengths   Competitor, Route running     Weaknesses    Top end speed, Ability to change directions
