NFL - Combination tight end who makes up for his thin frame with determination and effort as a blocker. Fumagalli's blocking showed improvement this year and he continued to be a consistent contributor as a pass catcher. He lacks athletic ability to consistently get open as a pass catcher, but he can poke holes in zone coverage and work himself free in play-action. Fumagalli could be targeted on day three by teams looking to add depth and competition for their two tight end sets.
CBS - Somewhat tight hips. Big target with trustworthy hands. Will struggle to get open against faster linebackers. Experience blocking but not a mauler. Mid-rounder.
DLF: PROJECTED ROOKIE DRAFT RANGE - According to DLF’s June Rookie Rankings, Fumagalli is being drafted very late in the last round of most rookie drafts, or even going undrafted. He has great value, especially when you can spend a fourth-round pick on him or even find him in the free agent pool. As the NFL training camp reports come out, you will want to keep a close eye on the tight end competition in Denver. If Fumagalli impresses, you could be getting a starting tight end for next to nothing late in your rookie drafts.
