Yahoo Sports. - The lesser competition knock on skill players never seems to be as apparent these days as it used to be, and that adds to Jones’ draft stock immensely. Totaling 158 catches and 1,746 yards in 2016, Jones shows serious potential. He is a very crisp route-runner despite possessing average speed, and his ball skills are near elite. Jones stands six-foot-two but needs to gain weight.
Yahoo Sports: 60. East Carolina WR Zay Jones — High-volume, high-character receiver with quickness, good hands. Could end up in top 50.
DLF: Jones is a “Jeremy Maclin” archetype when it comes to athleticism, as both players are very similar when it comes to height, weight, speed and quickness. With 2,659 career yards, Marvin Jones has proved to be a productive player in the league. Nelson Agholor may not be living up to the hopes of many dynasty players but he was drafted in the first round, making him a high-end prospect for his draft class. Jones had an amazing senior season at ECU, catching 158 receptions for 1,746 yards and eight touchdowns while owning a 43.48 percent market share of ECU’s offensive production.
NFL Analysis: The hype around Jones has been growing steadily since he made a handful of circus catches at the Senior Bowl. But to watch him on tape, you have to scratch your head. He has a solid NFL pedigree (his father is former Cowboys LB Robert Jones and his uncle is former Bengals QB Jeff Blake), but the tape won't excite many people. Jones is a good hands catcher who wins contested catches. He'll need to -- he's not running away from anyone and isn't particularly elusive in his routes. Much of his eye-popping production came from short throws and screen passes. Jones will certainly be on an NFL roster, but he'll need a lot of work (and maybe some good luck) to be in a fantasy-relevant role in 2017.

DRAFT ANALYSIS: "He's an advanced route-runner. I love his hands and his edge. Very average speed. His three-cone was one of the best of the combine, meaning he can get in and out of breaks. Against two Pac-12 teams, he caught the ball 27 times with six touchdowns, so don't give the 'level of competition' with Kupp." -- Mike Mayock
