Injured Reserve
If the team decides to place a player on injured reserve, it must be a major injury. The NFL defines major injury as an injury that renders the player unable to practice or play football for at least 4 weeks — or 28 calendar days — from the date of injury. Training camp IR, the player can not return that season.
Injured Reserve / PUP - No limit
DTR - Designated to Return
Practice Squads
Active - Once medically cleared can return to practice immediately
Reserve - End of camp player is not medically cleared prevents the player from practice for 4 weeks.
Practice Squad - PUP, Suspended players, Covid-19 - No Limit
Covid-19 and Opt Out players - No limit
Rookie PS - 1 per team, drafted player, per year - Rookie
