Comparing a player’s athletic traits to past and current NFL players
from DLF
DLF: At 233-pounds, Conner is a thick back who is tough to bring down once he gets going. His combine numbers suggests that he has enough speed to get the job done. When it comes to size and speed he compares to both Carlos Hyde and Samaje Perine.

Yahoo Sports: He’s a perfect complementary piece who can block, run with power, catch passes and be a great addition to the locker room as a serious-minded pro in waiting.

NFL Analysis: What Conner might lack in quickness, speed, and burst he more than makes up for in power, strength and determination. For those who don't know, Conner battled back from a diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma and returned to the gridiron. On the field, he's a downhill battering ram runner with a stiff-arm so good it's disrespectful to the defenders attempting to tackle him. Conner's lead-back upside is minimal, but he could be relevant in a Matt Asiata-type role, where he's the goal-line hammer who can also move the chains and catch a pass here and there. He's not a talent worth chasing in fantasy drafts, but is certainly one to root for who could find a niche.

DRAFT ANALYSIS: "It's a special story for a young man who battled back, beat cancer, had to spend time out, and it took a little while to get his game back because at one point, remember he was the ACC Player of the Year. Explosive, dynamic, physical, runs through contact. I think he catches the ball better than maybe he gets credit for." -- Charles Davis
